If the printer supports AirPrint (and from what you have written it does) then when you add the printer the built-in AirPrint driver will be automatically selected. To check if you did create the printer using the AirPrint driver, open Printers & Scanners and select the Epson. In the right pane you will see an entry labelled Kind.
